Freida Pinto is a professional model and actress from India known for her performance in her debut movie “Slumdog Millionaire”, wherein she played the role of Latika. But before she became an inspiring success story, Freida was struggling to make a name as an actress in India. Prior to her debut film, Freida Pinto anchored “Full Circle,” an international travel show showcasing the life and traditions in Asia and in the Pacific Islands. It was aired on Zee International Asia Pacific between the year 2006 and 2007, giving Pinto the opportunity to explore Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Fiji and Afghanistan, among others.

After six months of auditions, the aspiring actress was shortlisted, received a call from the Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle and was finally selected to play the role of Latika. The movie bagged the Best Picture in the Academy Awards in 2009, while the entire cast won the “Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture” in the Screen Actors Guild Award. Freida Pinto was nominated for the Best Supporting Role in BAFTA Awards.
